Increasing Donations and Volunteering

February 17, 2011 News No Comments

The latest Alertbox from web usability guru Jakob Nielsen is ‘Non-Profit Organization Websites: Increasing Donations and Volunteering’. The summary reads “Giving money on charity websites is 7% harder than spending money on e-commerce sites. Donating physical items is even harder. For non-profit websites, social media is secondary; the top priority is to write clearer content.” As there is no mention of geographic coverage, this has to be assumed to be based on testing in America but it is likely to have lessons for UK charities too, http://www.useit.com/alertbox/nonprofit-donations.html.
