Jobcentre Plus Districts now have more discretion to design, influence and deliver services to help customers move off benefits and into employment sooner than would otherwise be possible. District Managers will continue to engage with local public and voluntary organisations, particularly where this joins up collective efforts and stimulates solutions for improving employment and skills.

Description: The Centre for Public Health Excellence at the awarding authority wishes to commission fieldwork that will support the development of programme guidance on Obesity ż working with local communities. The scope for this guidance, which describes what the guidance will cover, can be found at http://guidance.nice.org.uk/PHG/Wave20/53. The purpose of the fieldwork will be to gather information from local public health teams, their commissioners and partners about the practicalities of implementing community-wide action to prevent obesity. MERCI Business Consultancy Opportunity closing date 29th July

MERCi is one of Manchester’s leading sustainability charities. It runs a number of projects, all aimed at helping people and organisations to operate and live in a sustainable way.

We are looking to develop an earned income strategy for MERCi and seek to appoint a business consultant who will research and develop a strategy that identifies opportunities for earned income, resulting in a final report and action plan.

The consultant will be contracted from August – December 2011. It is envisioned that the consultant will meet with the MERCi team for approximately 8 days during this period and the rest of the time will be self directed research and completion of the report and action plan. A fee of £3,000 will be paid, to include VAT, travel and other expenses.

Tender – Intermediate care – South Manchester.

A recent tender exercise was undertaken by NHS Manchester for the
provision of intermediate care services for the Manchester area as a
whole. The process was cancelled prior to award due to the reallocation of
service delivery to 4 differing authorities. Due to this UHSM are now
requesting expression of interest for the south Manchester area for the
intermediate service.
